Abuja, Nigeria – September 8, 2025

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has expressed readiness to partner with Solution Social Initiative (SSI) in strengthening humanitarian responses for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

This was made known during a courtesy meeting held at the NCFRMI headquarters in Abuja, hosted by the Department of IDPs under the leadership of Director Fatima Mamman Daura, and represented by Assistant Director Mrs. Uju Igboko.

Representatives of SSI, led by its Director Prophet Efe Cyril Edah, presented the organization’s vision, ongoing projects, and request for collaboration with the Commission. In its address, SSI emphasized its mission to restore dignity, provide hope, and transform communities through targeted interventions such as the GROW-HER Project for women’s empowerment, humanitarian relief outreach, psychosocial support services, child and youth development programs, and emergency relief responses.

During the session, Mrs. Igboko commended SSI for its commitment to grassroots humanitarian action and faith-driven service. She noted that the Commission values the contributions of civil society organizations in complementing government-led interventions, especially in reaching underserved populations.

“The Commission recognizes the passion and impact-driven work SSI is doing, particularly with women, children, and displaced persons. We are open to formal collaboration and will provide the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that guides partnership with NCFRMI. This will ensure proper alignment, accountability, and sustainability of efforts,” she stated.

She further assured that the SOP will serve as a framework for structured engagement, allowing SSI to participate in coordinated humanitarian response mechanisms under NCFRMI’s leadership.

Responding, SSI reaffirmed its readiness to work with the Commission, stressing that its role is not to duplicate efforts but to complement and strengthen the government’s mandate for refugees, migrants, and IDPs. The organization expressed confidence that the partnership will amplify impact and deliver hope to Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations.

The meeting concluded on a note of mutual commitment, with both parties pledging to move forward with the partnership process through formal documentation and alignment under the NCFRMI’s operational guidelines.
